Exploration/Exploitation of The Present Generation

Children are dying,
Women are hungry.
Men are at war,
Killing each other by force.
The life we have is perishing,
The world as we know it is sinking.
The strong exploit the weak,
But make it seem like exploration.

Let's reach for the STARS,
Curiosity must be sent to MARS.
Let's explore the UNIVERSE,
For a possibility of Life!
So we build spaceships,
Costing millions of dollars.
What are our expectations?
Could that lead to our extermination?

Of what use is finding life out there,
If we can't sustain the one we have here?
Let's go to war,
To take the oil, land and space.
Of what benefit is war,
If it only ruins our past and scar our future?
The future is uncertain in the name of exploration,
But I'd rather refer to it as exploitation of the present generation.

James Bond Poem

Here is a video of the James Bond timeline poem. Enjoy and share :)

Poem:

Dr. No is a special guy that came From Russia with Love,
He had a Goldfinger and a Thunderball.
Unlike Drake, YOLO was not his motto,
As he believed You Only Live Twice.
He was On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,
There he realised Diamonds Are Forever.
He had to Live and Let Die,
Not even The Man with Golden Gun could stop him.
The Dr was in love with The Spy Who Loved Me,
Until he was pushed off the Moonraker.
He wrote a letter to the spy titled For Your eyes Only,
After which he met the beautiful Octopussy.
Dr. No had A View to a Kill in The Living Daylights,
A Licence to Kill and a GoldenEye.
To him, Tomorrow Never Dies,
And The World Is Not Enough.
Dr No. can always Die Another Day,
As long as he plays ‘Texas hold’em’ at the Casino Royale.
The Quantum of Solace gave him the happiness he was after,
Until he arrived at Skyfall.

A Christian

I am a Christian, Not because I'm better than you,
It's more like cos I chose the path that;s right for me.
I'm not claiming to be holier than you,
But I have a redeemer that washed me clean.
What did I pay? I paid nothing!
It's not a fair trade, I'm aware of that.
I used to be that guy,
That was lost in this big world,
Yet he found me.
After he found me,
He called me.
Although many were called,
He chose me.
He's there every step I take,
To guide me in all my ways.
Not that I deserve it,
But his grace is sufficient for me.
He's invisible, but his works are visible,
The evidence of which lies in me being invincible.
With my eyes, I have seen.
With my ears, I have heard.
With my mouth, I will speak.
With poetry, I will express his goodness.
In order to create a lasting impression on you.
So, please take this as an expression of my FAITH.
I don't need anyone's permission,
I am a CHRISTIAN,
A man in the service of CHRIST my SAVIOUR.
Every chance I get, I will make his faithfulness
known to all nations.

Heroes (Remembrance Poem)

On the roads they walked lies their dead body.
For the peace they fought for, their blood was shed.
The pain and agony they went through,
The touchy sacrifice,
The loneliness,
The shame, and the persistence of our heroes yielded us victory.
The words they spoke,
The fight they fought,
The peace they sought and the precious life they lived speaks for them,
Even when the agony of death had shut their mouth at the going down of the sun.
In the morning we shall remember these ones,
And pray for their souls,
For they are our heroes,
Through which the liberty of mankind was established.

Pull Ups and 8 Min Abs Workout

I finally uploaded my pull up video to my youtube channel [hit the subscribe button :) ], just to show you guys one of the things I get up to at the  gym (Watch the video -----------> ).

After uploading my video, I found this 'SICK' youtube channel with good workout videos. Check it out and get your fitness level on point. Here is a video I have special interest in from that channel.

8 Min Abs Workout, how to have six pack. The workout has been designed to specifically work on the abdominal area.

It can be done by anyone who exercises regularly, both men and women. There are no particular requirements for this module; you just need to know how to properly perform the exercises involved.
PROGRAM

Perform this workout every second day (e.g. Mon-Wed-Fri) for at least two weeks. Then you'll be ready to perform the next level of this workout.
Good Luck to get six pack!

HOW THIS WORKOUT WORKS
1. Working aerobically on your abdominal muscles for over 7 minutes stimulates the capillaries in this area. These in turn increase the blood flow.
2. A greater blood flow means a greater flow of oxygen - and fat only burns in the presence of oxygen.
3. Toned muscles need more calories (kcal) to stay active. Our organism tends to release these calories from the area near the active muscles. So it burns fat in that area.

HOW TO USE THIS WORKOUT
1. The module is designed to work the abdominal area 'aerobically'. Performing it straight after an aerobic workout (e.g.: running, spinning, swimming or other aerobic activities) will improve the positive effect.
2. Learn the instructions for each exercise of this workout. Ensure you perform exercises properly.
3. Pay attention on the correct breathing while performing the exercises. It is very important and will help you achieve the best results possible.

Empty Heart (Poem)

My heart is empty like the other side of my bed.

The other side of my bed is empty like a vase without flowers.

The flower has withered like one that hasn't been
watered.

So I need you to come in and...

Fill my heart like water fills the stomach.

Be the flower in my vase to add beauty to my life.

Occupy the other side of my bed that longs for some warmth.

Come into my heart, and there you can reside,
even until the end of time.

Surprise! Guys can multi task (Cooking things I like)

Surprise! Surprise!! Guys can cook too.
I will use this blog post to set some record straight :)
I won't bore you with the whole story, but there will be pictures, so you should get the full gist.

I had a webinar for my IChemE interest group at 8.30 am today, [a webinar is a web (online) seminar.
Web + Seminar = Webinar get it?] so I decided to multi task which is something many of you believe guys are pretty rubbish at.
The smart ones can already guess what I was doing during the webinar. I was cooking!
Another surprise right?
'Guys can't multi task'
'Guys are awful at cooking'
Well, check out the pictures below and be the judge. The point of this message is that guys can multi task and some of us are good cooks :) (Thanks to mummy of course). Momma taught me well.

Having A Successful University Career

There are many guides out there on surviving at university. Many of them point out a few Dos and DON’T’s and tell students about games and getting drunk, but only a few talk about how to have a successful career at university. Here are six pieces of advice based on my university experience – I hope they will help someone out there who is just about to start a new journey or those that got lost whilst on the journey.

First year does count!

“First year doesn't count!” is a very common phrase amongst freshers and just one of many misconceptions about starting a university career. Although first year might not carry any weight when it comes to the final year result, it is the foundation and therefore very important.
For students with industrial placements, the first year result will be the only result in hand when applying for placements and failure to provide a satisfactory result might result in losing out on the vital experience that could be gained through industrial placement.
Also, for many courses such as engineering and applied science, the remaining years at University are based on the knowledge gained from first year, as modules tends to continue in years 2, 3 and 4. Lecturers expect students to be able to tap into the things learnt in first year at any stage of their university career. First year knowledge will be tested when given assignments and projects in the penultimate and final year.

Balance work and your social life

Failure to get a balance between work and social life can lead to a very unhappy student. Social life at university is important, although not as important as academic commitments. It is vital for a student to get the balance right and this can be done in several ways. It is a bad habit amongst many students to go out the night before they have a 9am start. Many of them tend not to make it to the lecture while the ones that do tend to lack concentration. Also, the company you keep will determine how successful you will be in your studies. It might be fun hanging out with students from other schools of study, but it is important to realise what suits them might not suit you, as timetables will be different and some courses are less challenging than the others.

Be outspoken

As a fresher, the first few weeks might be difficult as you are just trying to get used to a new environment, but it is always good to be outspoken and to not keep problems to yourself. There are always people to help, be it academic or non-academic staff. Fellow students can also be very helpful as they might have had the same problem in the past, so their experience can be passed on. On the other hand, if you keep to yourself, no one will be able to help you. When something seems confusing, ask someone who might have a better understanding and this will make university life more enjoyable as you will spend less time worrying.

Set your alarm and be punctual

This might seem like a basic thing but you will be amazed that many students have missed important classes, laboratory experiments and exams just because they forgot to set their alarms. In order to enjoy your time at university, you will have to learn to do things at the right time and not always playing catch up. Punctuality, they say, is the soul of business, and it is the also the soul of a good student. Be on time to all your lectures as this will give you time to settle down and boost your concentration level.

Beware of other commitments

Having a football match or a shift at your part-time job is not a good enough excuse to miss lectures or labs. Many students tend to make commitments based on a certain timetable e.g. first teaching period timetable. However, the timetable at university does not always remain the same as new modules will be added and there will be busy times when you have to hand in coursework and other projects. Some commitments will make this very difficult. I’ve seen students missing lectures because they have a match scheduled at the same time or have to be at work because they have a contract to do so and this is often reflected in the overall performance of such students.
Making money at the university to support yourself might be necessary but it is very important to know who you are and never bite off more than you can chew. Some employers offer flexible shift patterns. Such contracts are student friendly and will make life a lot easier when the workload at university gets a bit over the top.

Are you smarter than your smart phone?

For many students, their smart phones will distract them from things like paying attention during lectures, but the smart gadgets can be very good if they are used wisely. So, are you smarter than your smart phone?
For those who are, gadgets can be used to access student e-mail on the go and sometimes record lectures if necessary. Student e-mail is the main means of communication as well as other portals such as blackboard. These gadgets will let you receive vital information on time and take necessary action, so they can be very handy if used the smart way.

You Are Welcome

You've said your goodbyes,
You are welcome.
You've sailed through strong tides,
Your are welcome.
The demand to get here must have been high,
But you have paid the price,
So you are welcome.
Welcome to a new beginning,
A journey to a new world.
A world of opportunities,
A place where dreams come true.
You are about to make history,
And start a new chapter of your life.
You will learn about many things,
And pay your rents without your pa-rents.
Here, you will make new friends,
And will have to pass many tests.
The ride won't be easy,
But you are welcome to this new beginning,
You are welcome to ASTON UNIVERSITY.

The Wait Is Over For Andy Murray and Great Britain

Andy Murray lifting his trophy.
History was made today as Andy Murray was crowned the US Open Men's Champion in New York.
It's been a long wait for the Scot, as he had to wait till the fifth time to win his first grand slam. The 2012 Men's US open final featured a strong Djokovic who is currently world number two. It was not going to be an easy ride for Murray as he had to wait till the 5th set to be crowned the Champion.

The Showdown
2012 has been a very good year for Andy, as he made the Wimbledon final, won an Olympic gold medal for the men's single and now the US Open.
Murray's mum, Judy Murray, watched as her son cruised to victory and become the first Brit to win the US open after about 8 decades.

The second to the longest tennis match of the US Open Era (just 1 minute short of the longest) will go down in history as a showdown of a brilliant tennis match between two brilliant players of this generation. The match results are 6-2, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6 and 6-2. Andy Murray took home his trophy and a prize of $1.9million.

Dare Your Way To The Top

Dare to dream,
and see the future ahead of you.

Capture a picture of the future

and like an electron released during fusion,
release yourself into a greater tomorrow
that will surely be better than today.

Dare to make a difference today,
and make someone have a good day.
Be a blessing and see if you won’t be blessed.
Tell someone that you care,
and forgive the careless person that tried to mess you up.

Dare to be happy.
Although sorrow might endure for a night,
everlasting joy will come in the morning.
Dare to pray so that you won’t be a prey,
and say it is well, believing it will be well with you.

Dare to dream,
Dare to make a difference,
Dare to be happy,Dare to be the best,
and joyfully, you will make your way
to the top of the world.

Olympic Games: London 2012

Lay the foundation of the arena with bronze,
And make the track with silver lining.
Mark the finish line with gold
And amplify the loud roar of the fans,
Cheering our golden boys and girls to victory.

Hold your breath for the 100m final,
And watch every stride of the fastest men on earth.
Be blown away by the routines of the gymnasts,
And the endurance of the marathoners.

Feel the splash of the water,
As every swimmer swims
And all rowers row,
Even as the sailors sail.

Gold, silver and bronze, we want them all,
As no effort of the competitors will be in vain.
To compete in the Olympics is not a joke,
So for those without medals,
Keep your heads high.

Testimony

Tried and tested,

Has never failed.
In any way,
He will never fail.

I've blamed him in the past,
For my own mistakes.
I'm sorry Lord,
Please don't forsake me.

You've done a lot for me,
I've been an ingrate.
Here I am LORD,
Accept my praise.

I am nothing without you,
With you I have everything.
I've come to testify LORD,
This is my testimony.

The Word

He was present when the foundation of the world was laid.
He is the author and finisher of our soul.
He is the word that was, that is and that will be.

For God so love the world that he sent his only begotten son ‘the word’, that whosoever believes in him ‘the word’ will not perish but have eternal life. The word shines in darkness and when God spoke the word, let there be light; there was light and darkness comprehended it not.
In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was GOD. The word became flesh and dwelt amongst us to feel what we feel, see what we see, do all that we do except sin because the word was without blemish.
There was a need for God and men to reconcile, so there was no other way than the way of the word that was when God gave man the breath of life. The word was the way, the only way! The word became the lamb for the forgiveness of our sins. Even without sin, He took our place and died so that you and I may live.
Forty stripes he took for our healing, He carried the cross to wipe away our shame, guilt and sin. On the way to Calvary, even in pain he prayed for you and I. 3 nails and a spear in his body, he took for us.

The prince of peace with a shinning crown wore a crown of thorns for our forgiveness. If only they knew he was the word that was, that is and that would be, they wouldn’t have crucified JESUS. On the cross, he paid the price for the forgiveness of our sins.
1 life, he gave for all and he said IT IS FINISHED! On The third day he rose again having paid for our sins with his own dear life.
Happy Easter.

The Science of Love

Let your heart be my habitat,

and your mind my thoughts.

My niche in this environment of love,

is to teach you a science of love.

The science of love,

a knowledge so deep,

the science of love,

a teaching so sweet,

the science of love,

the life you and I live.

What is a habitat?
It is the place where you and I live.
What is a niche?
It is the function of an organism in its environment.
Your heart is my habitat,
a place so warm.
Your niche in my world
is to show me unconditional love
and receive me into your heart,
the place where I belong.
The ecosystem, the inevitable part;
people of different species living together
at a particular place and time.
The haters, the lovers,
the well wishers, and the wicked ones but without the interaction between us,
the ecosystem won’t be perfect.
